Why Powder Coating Is the Best Finish for Outdoor Enclosures

Manufacturing

Outdoor electrical enclosures in South Africa face harsh UV, heavy summer storms, dust and coastal salt air. The finish is the first line of defence, and a poor one leads to rust, failed seals and costly replacements.

Powder coating versus wet paint

Powder coating applies a dry powder electrostatically and then cures it in an oven. The result is a thicker, harder and more even finish than wet paint, with no runs or drips and far better resistance to chipping and fading.

Preparation makes the difference

A coating is only as good as the surface beneath it. Our multi-stage pre-treatment line degreases, descales and applies a zinc phosphate conversion coat before sealing, so the powder bonds properly and corrosion cannot creep under the finish.

What you gain

  • Long-lasting protection against corrosion, UV and impact
  • A consistent colour across every part of an assembly
  • Lower maintenance over the life of the equipment
  • A finish that is solvent-free and better for the environment
