These terms apply to every order placed through the Edge Line website and to your use of this website. By placing an order you accept them. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA).
1. About us

2. Orders
- An order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we confirm your order by email, not when you place it.
- We may decline or cancel an order, for example if a product is out of stock or a price or description was shown in error. If you have already paid, we will refund you in full.
- Please check your order before you submit it. Contact us as soon as possible if something is wrong.
3. Prices and payment
- Prices are shown in South African Rand (ZAR). Whether a price includes VAT is shown on the website and on your order.
- Delivery charges are shown or confirmed before you pay.
- Payment is made using the methods offered at checkout. Goods remain our property until we have received payment in full.
- We may change prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders we have already confirmed.
4. Delivery and collection
- We deliver within South Africa to the address you give us, or you may collect your order from our Robertsham branch when we tell you it is ready.
- Delivery times are estimates. We will let you know if there is a delay.
- Please check your goods when they arrive and tell us within 2 working days if anything is missing or damaged in transit.
- Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery or collection.
5. Cooling-off period
Under section 44 of ECTA you may cancel an online purchase within 7 days of receiving the goods, without reason or penalty. You must return the goods unused, in their original packaging, at your own cost. We will refund you within 30 days of receiving them. This right does not apply to goods made or modified to your specifications.
6. Returns, defects and warranty
- Under the CPA you may return goods that are defective, unsafe or not fit for their purpose within 6 months of delivery, and choose a repair, replacement or refund.
- Many products also carry a manufacturer’s warranty, shown on the product page. Warranty claims are handled according to the manufacturer’s terms.
- The warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect installation, misuse, accidents, unauthorised modification or normal wear and tear.
- Electrical products must be installed by a qualified, registered electrician in line with SANS 10142 and any applicable regulations.
- To return a product, contact us first so we can arrange the return and give you a reference.
7. Custom-made products and quotations
Products we design or manufacture to your specifications, such as enclosures, kiosks, distribution boards, motor control centres and fabricated parts, are supplied under the quotation we issue. Quotations are valid for the period stated on them. Once production has started, custom orders cannot be cancelled, except as allowed by law.
8. Wholesale accounts
Wholesale and trade accounts are subject to approval. Trade pricing and credit terms are agreed separately and may be withdrawn if an account is misused or falls into arrears.
9. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account details and password confidential, and for orders placed through your account. Please let us know straight away if you think someone else has used it.
10. Product information
We take care to describe products accurately, but images are for illustration and specifications may change. If a product differs materially from its description, you may return it under section 6.
11. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of profit or downtime, arising from the use of our products or this website. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the CPA.
12. Privacy
We handle your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page when you place your order applies to that order. These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
