Edge Line (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and our online shop, why we collect it, and how we protect it, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Who we are
Edge Line is an electrical and mechanical engineering, manufacturing and electrical wholesale company based at 8 Harry Street, Robertsham, Johannesburg South, South Africa. For any privacy question, contact our Information Officer on 011 680 5492 or at sales@edgeline.co.za.
What we collect
- Contact and enquiry details: your name, company, email address, phone number and message when you complete a form or ask for a quote.
- Account and order details: your billing and delivery addresses, VAT number, order history and wishlist when you create an account or buy from our shop.
- Wholesale applications: business and contact details you give us when applying for a wholesale account.
- Website usage: technical information such as your IP address, browser and the pages you visit, collected through cookies (see our Cookie Policy).
We do not store your full card details. Payments are processed by our payment providers, who handle that information under their own security standards.
How we use your information
- To respond to enquiries, prepare quotes and provide our services.
- To process, deliver and support your orders, and to manage your account.
- To assess wholesale applications and manage trade accounts.
- To improve our website and understand how it is used.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
- To send you news or offers, only where you have agreed to receive them. You can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We only share personal information where it is needed to serve you: with couriers that deliver your orders, payment providers, our website hosting and email providers, and professional advisers, or where the law requires it. We never sell your personal information. Some of our service providers (for example Google Analytics) may process information outside South Africa; where this happens we make sure it is protected to a standard comparable to POPIA.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires (for example, tax records are kept for five years). Account information is kept until you ask us to close your account.
How we protect it
Our website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, accounts are protected by passwords, and access to personal information is limited to staff and providers who need it.
Your rights
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to its use, or withdraw your consent to marketing.
