If your plant runs pumps, conveyors, fans or mixers, every motor needs a starter, protection and a way to control it. When those components are spread across a site in separate panels, maintenance becomes slow and fault-finding becomes guesswork. A motor control centre (MCC) solves that by bringing everything into one engineered assembly.
What is a motor control centre?
An MCC is a free-standing switchboard made up of sections, or “buckets”, each holding the starter and protection for one motor. A common busbar feeds every section, and the whole assembly is built and tested as one unit before it reaches site.

What goes inside
- Direct-on-line, star-delta or soft starters, and variable speed drives where speed control is needed
- Circuit breakers, overload relays and motor protection devices
- Control circuits, PLC inputs and outputs, and metering
- Clear labelling and segregation so each motor can be isolated safely

When you need one
An MCC makes sense when you have several motors in one area, when downtime is costly, or when you are upgrading an older installation that has grown piece by piece. Centralising control makes isolation safer, speeds up fault-finding and leaves room to add motors later.
Built to suit your process
At Edge Line we design and manufacture MCCs in-house, from the sheet metal enclosure to the final wiring and testing. Every layout is planned around your equipment, the space available and how your maintenance team works. Contact us to discuss your next project.
